Vietti's Barbera d'Alba Vigna Scarrone sees fruit sourced from an estate vineyard site that is located right under the Vietti household. The vines are 35+ years old and are therefore old enough to have lost their youthful vigor, resulting in rich and more concentrated fruit. This balanced and elegant expression offers black fruit aromas that are backed by healthy extraction and density. There is a point of bright acidity on the close. It adds chiseled intensity and focused sharpness.

94 POINTS, VINOUS
The 2019 Barbera 'Alba Vigna Scarrone is stunning. Deep, layered and silky, the Scarrone is exceptional. All the elements are so well balanced. Plush dark fruit, mocha, spice, new leather, licorice and mocha come together in a Barbera that dazzles from start to finish. The 2019 is one of the best in recent memory.
