Vietti's entry level Barbera d'Asti Tre Vigne (signifying the three different vineyards that the wine is taken from), is a brilliant example from one of the best producers of Barbera in the world. From mostly young vines in Asti (although a portion of the single vineyard 'La Crena' goes into this wine and those vines were planted in 1947!), Vietti uses a number of different vessels for ageing (stainless steel, big vat, small barrel), which adds complexity to the wine.
