This is the southernmost Cru of the Beaujolais. This beautiful, south-facing parcel is located at the foothill of Mount Brouilly on clay-limestone soils. The resulting wines are ripe and concentrated. This Brouilly was fermented with 50% whole clusters, and the tannins are slightly more apparent here.

Wafting from the glass with aromas of cherries, berries, smoked meats and violets, the 2018 Brouilly La Pilonière is medium to full-bodied, supple and velvety, with an enveloping core of fruit, lively acids and a long, sapid finish. It's a charming, flavorful wine that was half destemmed and matured in used oak barrels for 10 months.
