From more than 11 different Crus (single vineyards) inside the Barolo appellation, this is Vietti's 'basic' Barolo (although technically classified as Langhe Nebbiolo DOC). This cuvée was created by Luca Currado to give the next generation of wine lovers a chance to experience the joys of the Nebbiolo grape without having to pay higher prices for Barolo. The wine is selected from different barrels, in a blind tasting. Luca looks for less tannin, and more approachability in this wine, but it can age for 10 years if you have the patience. Most don't have the patience, because it's absolutely one of the most delicious and drinkable wines in our portfolio. Having it in magnums just makes it that much cooler.

92 POINTS, WINE ADVOCATE:
Without a doubt, this is one of the top easiest-to-drink wines I tasted this year. The 2013 Langhe Nebbiolo Perbacco is an approachable and versatile wine that brings on a hearty appetite for genuine home cooking. The wine is ripe with dark fruit nuances and it offers a complete bouquet that is comprised of dark fruit, pressed rose and spice. Despite its apparent simplicity, this Nebbiolo is not without its complexity or depth.
