Beaurenard is an 8th generation family in the village of Chateauneuf-du-Pape, and this cuvée is an excellent example of classic winemaking. Hand picked and sorted, with a blend of more than 6 native grape varieties, the winemaking style is definitely hands-off, and Frederic and Daniel Coulon (the owner/winemakers) work organically and biodynamically to ensure that their vines are strong and create top quality grapes. There is excellent fruit, with lovely minerality and spice notes. This can be enjoyed in its youth, full of primary flavours, or aged for many years if you want to see the evolution of the secondary and tertiary flavours and aromas.
