The Mantengoli family has farmed this land since the 1930s, with Andrea and Marcello taking the estate into winemaking in 1988. Situated just northeast of Montalcino — neighbours to Cerbaiona and Biondi Santi — on a complex mix of tuff, sand, schist, and galestro. Gemini is the estate's flagship: a single parcel planted in 1993 at 400 metres, always the last to be harvested, certified organic, and aged 42 months in large oak casks before a minimum six months in bottle. Around 800 cases produced. A genuine cru Brunello at a price that still makes sense — don't sleep on it.
