The 2016 Gamay Noir El Dorado is delicate, light on its feet and gracious. In some vintages, the Gamay offered more fruit depth, but in 2016 readers will find a wine with a bit more tannic bite because of the younger-vine fruit in this year's wine. Even so, all the elements are very nicely balanced. Rose petal, sage, mint and cranberry add the closing shades of nuance. This is such a pretty wine.
