Vadio Sparkling

Vadio's sparkling wine is made in the traditional Champagne method so it lends to a rich mouthfeel and notes of toasted hazelnuts and brioche. Grown from 30 year old vines, this wine is fermented in a mix of stainless steel and used oak barrels.

• 91 POINTS, WINE ADVOCATE:
  The 2018 Branco is a 60/40 blend of Cercial and Bical (the Bical only was aged for eight months in used French oak). It comes in at 13% alcohol. Solid in the mid-palate but still fresh and a little spicy, this has a long finish surrounded by acidity. The wood is beautifully handled. This had no malolactic fermentation because the 2018 acidity was lower than in 2017, said the winemaker. That technique worked well here, as this certainly seems bright. I hate to be a broken record, but this is another fine white in this very consistent bottling. It should age very well and perhaps will be better in a year or two.
