Good bright red. Musky, perfumed, high-pitched aromas of coffee, rose petal and burnt orange. Dense but light on its feet, with a piquant blood orange character giving clarity to this seamless, silky midweight. Finishes with wonderfully fine-grained tannins and lingering scents of flowers and spices.

The wood is a bit more prominent on the ripe if reserved nose of red currants and plenty of floral influence. The exceptionally rich and lavishly concentrated big-bodied flavors possess a velvety mouthfeel thanks to the almost thick dry extract that serves to also buffer the notably firm tannic spine on the incredibly powerful finish. This won't win any awards for refinement but it is certainly impressive in its fashion.
