This is a great wine from Philippe Pacalet. A more deeply pitched but still quite pretty nose offers up both red and dark berry scents that are trimmed in wisps of earth, spice and floral nuances. The tight, compact and intense medium-bodied flavors possess excellent underlying tension while displaying a taut muscularity on the moderately austere and solidly persistent finish. This is notably firm but the supporting tannins appear to be slightly riper.
