Temporarily out of stock
Based on a blend of Alder Springs Grenache & Bedrock Vineyard Mourvedre, this classic blend screams southern Rhone. The Grenache component from the Spirit Rock Block at the highest point of Alder Springs Vineyard brings high-toned fruit wild aromatics and spice for days. The old-vine Mourvedre (planted in 1881) from the Bedrock Vineyard in Sonoma Valley holds down the baseline with exotic flavors of black fruits, white flowers, tree bark and wild honey.

92 POINTS, VINOUS
The 2017 The Vicar (Mourvedre, Grenache) is a bold, powerful wine that captures the natural exuberance of the year nicely. Sweet red cherry, plum, cedar and tobacco all flesh out in ample, creamy red that will drink well upon release. In 2017, the Vicar is seriously powerful and full of character. The blend of Alder Springs Grenache and Bedrock Mourvèdre works so well here.
