Lauer’s 2020 Schonfels GG Fass 11 is deep, intense and pure on the still yeasty nose that exhibits ripe fruit intertwined with herbal/floral and stony aromas. Crystalline and lean on the palate and with enormous length, this is a pure and refined, vegetal-flavored dry Riesling with remarkable finesse and tension. More classic maybe than the richer van Volxem.
