Thibault Liger-Belair Mixed Case

The Liger-Belair name is one of the oldest and well-known in Nuits-st-Georges, and all of Burgundy.  They started in the wine industry as negotiants and land owners (they were the owners of the famed Grand Cru La Tache until 1929, when they sold it to Domaine de la Romanee-Conti).  The family has always been part of the history of Nuits-st-Georges, some generations even acting as Mayor of the village.  Thibault Liger-Belair is now the 8th or 9th generation of the family and started his own domaine in 2002.

Bourgogne Chardonnay les Charmes 2016: Thibault Liger-Belair's Bourgogne Chardonnay comes from different village level sites in the Cote d'Or.  It's bright and energetic, with light orchard fruit notes, good acidity and a clean, minerally finish.  This is an excellent value from one of the top producers in Nuits-st-Georges.

Bourgogne Gamay les Deux Terres 2016: 40% Pinot Noir and 60% Gamay from de-classified village fruit, this is Thibault's most entry-level Burgundy but there's nothing entry level about it.This is exceptional.

Moulin-a-Vent les Vieilles Vignes 2016: Thibault Liger-Belair's Moulin-à-Vent Vieilles Vignes comes from 60- to 80-year-old vines. It has a very subtle and complex bouquet of blackberry, boysenberry and mineral scents that unfold in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple black fruit on the entry, but the back end exerts quite a grip.
