While there isn't the same classification of vineyards in the Macon as other parts of Burgundy, if there is a 'Grand Cru' in the Macon, it's the climat (vineyard) of les Quarts. This cuvée comes from the stoniest part of les quarts, and the vines produce grapes that go through millerandage (all of the berries are smaller than normal). This creates a wine of intense concentration, but with elegance and balance along with power. This is the greatest wine of the Macon.
