This unique wine is made exclusively from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes that are vinified and refined in French oak barriques. This fascinating single varietal wine impresses with its perfect structure, distinguished aromas and cassis and amarena flavours. One feels the well-balanced acidity on the palate, which is accompanied by dense tannins to give the wine a long life.

  The 2018 Balisca is a tiny production of 1,500 bottles, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Panzano, one of the spots in Chianti Classico where Cabernet works well. Blackberry, sage, menthol and liquorice abound. This is a wine of tremendous character and distinction. The 2018 is vinified then aged in barrel for 24 months. I am so curious to see how this ages. The purity of the fruit is remarkable but the aromatics need time to develop.
