Chardonnay Mixed Case

As far as white grapes go, it's pretty hard to beat Chardonnay. Grown and vinified by some of the worlds greatest wineries and winemakers, it's versatility knows almost no bounds.

This mixed case of two bottles of the three wines below is a rare chance to try some of the top Chardonnay wines that aren't from California or Burgundy.

Bodega Chacra Chardonnay 2019 (99 points, James Suckling): The tension and density are so in balance, showing flint and matchstick notes. Full-bodied, creamy and very salty with a long, focused finish. Love the tight, subdued character here. A thoughtful, serious wine that needs contemplation. Drinkable now, but better in 2022 and onwards.

Evening Land Summum Chardonnay 2017 (95 points, Vinous): Brilliant straw-yellow. Fresh and energetic on the incisive nose, displaying fresh pear, nectarine and Meyer lemon scents accompanied by suave floral, saffron and chalky mineral flourishes. Silky and open-knit, offering densely packed yet shockingly lively citrus and orchard fruit, honeysuckle, oyster shell and saffron flavors that show superb tension and back-end lift. Finely delineated and lithe in character, finishing extremely long and seamless, with vibrant mineral cut and lingering floral and orchard fruit notes.

Aldo Conterno Chardonnay 'Bussiador' 2017 (93 points, Wine Advocate): This beautiful Chardonnay opens to spicy intensity with dried apricot and tropical fruit, all presented with heightened intensity and volume. The Poderi Aldo Conterno 2017 Langhe Chardonnay Bussiador is ripe and round with hints of yellow candy and ripe fruit. These opulent and softly voluptuous fruit flavors wrap smoothly over the palate. The finish is silky and fine with distant hints of crushed stone or mineral. Some 8,000 bottles were made.
