Wilde Farm Mixed Case

Wilde Farm makes wines from old vines and exceptional vineyards. Quantities are very small. Their wines are bright, balanced and made by hand. They emphasize a balance of acid and fruit and as an added bonus they age great. Wilde Farm's winemaker is none other than Pax Mahle, widely recognized as one of the top winemakers in Sonoma County. These three wines are very unique and show Wilde Farm's range very well.

Dolcetto 2018 (91 points, Vinous): Wilde Farm's 2018 Dolcetto Fox Hill Vineyard is soft, fruity and supple, all of which will make it an easy wine to drink and enjoy upon release. Ripe dark cherry, plum, lavender and spice all meld in an effortless, delicious Dolcetto to drink now and over the next few years. The 100% whole clusters add aromatic nuance and brightness to the red-toned fruit in a super-expressive Dolcetto that has the potential to be an overachiever.

Heritage 2018 (94 points, Vinous): The 2018 Heritage Bedrock Vineyard is a very pretty and nuanced wine that offers a bit more aromatic lift and energy than most wines made off this site. Expressive aromatics and bright acids give the inky dark fruit a good deal of vibrancy. Readers will find plenty to like. As always, the Bedrock Vineyard wine is a Zinfandel-based field blend that incorporates a total of 27 varieties.

Syrah Halcon Vineyard 2017 (93 points, Vinous): The 2017 Syrah Halcón Vineyard shows a richer, deeper side of this Yorkville Highlands site. Muscular and potent, the 2017 packs a serious punch from the very first taste. It has perhaps a bit less aromatic intensity than in cooler years, but more fruit depth and tannic clout. Hints of game, iron and smoke add closing shades of nuance.
