Jaimee Motley Cabernet Sauvignon Peter Martin Ray Vineyard

A pure expression of mountain Cabernet. The nose ranges from fresh brambleberry, star anise, oolong tea, and roses. The palate has an elegant structure and silkiness that bounces across your mouth with notes of high-tone blueberry & mulberry with graphite, petrichor, and briny olive. Upon entry, polished tannins take hold and are framed with incredible acidity. The two marry in harmony to create a nuanced sensory experience. This wine is drinking beautifully right now however it will definitely go the distance in regards to aging.

  The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Peter Martin Ray is just as impressive from bottle as it was from barrel. Rich and deep, yet classically medium in body—as all of Jaimee Motley's wines are—the 2017 is a terrific example of old-school Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Dried herbs, licorice and a touch of whole cluster savoriness from the 25% stems add character. The only thing the 2017 is missing is a bit of mid-palate pliancy, but that is the result of a year in which even ripeness was very hard to attain, and in which many wines are a bit on the lighter side.
