One of (if not 'the') top Sancerre red wines in the region, Lucien Crochet's Sancerre Pinot Noir 'Cuvee Prestige' is remarkable. Made only in top vintages, the vines for this wine have an average age of more than 50 years. The soil composition of Crochet's vineyards (Oxfordian and Kimmeridgian marls) yields wines that are highly aromatic, with an excellent balance of pure and delicate fruit with fine minerality. This is a great wine to add to a Burgundian blind tasting!
