Summer Red Mixed Case IV

Our fourth red mixed case shows the diversity in our portfolio, staying true to our commitment to work with wine farmers and winemakers. These are three remarkably different and exceptional wines.

Pedro Parra Pencopolitano 2018: The 2018 Pencopolitano is a regional red blend of 67% Cinsault from Guarilihue and 33% País from Portezuelo from old vines (40 to 200 years old) on granite-based soils rich in lime, sand and quartz. It fermented with 30% full clusters and matured in 2,500-liter oak foudres, 5,000-liter oak vats and 3,000-liter concrete vats for 10 to 11 months. This is a wine with more structure and fruit, a round palate and a straightforward personality that is easier to understand.

Pax North Coast Syrah 2018: The 2018 Syrah (North Coast) is a new wine in the range that essentially replaces The Hermit. Ripe, open-knit and expressive, the North Coast is made in a radiant, inviting style that can be enjoyed with minimal cellaring. Moreover, it is a real overachiever.

Gagliole Chianti Classico 2018: While Gagliole primarily focuses on IGT Toscana wines, they do make one Chianti Classico DOCG, and it's a fantastic example.  Bright and fresh, with fine grained tannin structure, red fruits, spice and earth notes.  This is an incredible value, available in magnum bottles.
